New And Exciting Cold Brew Recipes

By Ann Parker

When it comes to a cold brew coffee, two brewing methods can be used, the one called the immersion method, and the ice drip method. Both are quite interesting and really simple, and each has its own characteristics. Among numerous cold brew recipes you will probably find something for yourself.

Immersion is so simple you can start with it right now. All you need is some freshly ground coffee, water and a container that is large enough for the mixture. Normally, people use one part of coffee and eight parts of water, but you can adjust this ratio to your taste. Some people like stronger taste, and, i this case, simply use less water instead.

You should simply combine water and coffee and let it sit for 15 to 20 hours in the container. After that, filter the mixture and place your favorite drink in a bottle. You can keep it in your refrigerator for several days. Resulting beverage is smooth, full of wonderful taste and aromatic, with adorable caramel aftertaste.

Other popular method is called ice drip. It takes less time, but more investment. You need to have special devices for preparing your cold brew coffee. This device consists of a few connected containers. The highest one contain iced water that drips over coffee grounds in container placed below. This process is a little bit faster than the previous one, but still really slow. It takes approximately ten hours, but you can use one to ten ratio here.

So, the water will drip on ground coffee very slowly, maybe one drip per second, for hours and hours. Resulting coffee has higher acidity, more distinctive aroma and a wide variety of flavors, with floral and fruity notes included. Takes some time to learn how to make it perfect and you have to invest in the equipment.

It's time to try some new recipes. For example, the one called Nutty milk pleasure. For making this lovely summer drink, you will have to have already prepared cold brew coffee, 50 grams roasted almonds, 200 ml water, brown sugar, cinnamon and 100 ml of your favorite ice cream. You can always use vanilla, of course, but almond, chocolate or whipped cream will also be good replacement. You may also replace sugar with stevia, for example.

Roast the almonds in the pan for a few seconds, let them cool and then put them in your food processor. Process them and add 200 ml water. Filter the mixture and combine with brown sugar and cinnamon. Add your previously prepared coffee and vanilla ice cream. Decorate with cinnamon stick and enjoy.

Another tasty summer beverage is called Caramel touch. You should caramelize two table spoons of sugar and combine it with 100 ml of milk. When it all melts, put it aside to cool. In the meantime, combine 50 ml coffee liqueur and 300 ml of your cold brew coffee. Fill large glasses with ice, pour caramelized milk over ice and fill the glasses with coffee. You may also add some ice cream or whipped cream on the top.
