Even people with darker skin may get sunburns. It doesn't even matter how tanned you already are, it won't make you untouchable. If this happens, here are some tips on how to heal sunburn.

You should apply your sunblock cream frequently, especially if you were swimming in the meantime. If you notice the redness on some areas, cool the skin rinsing it with fresh water or, when you can, take a cold shower. Immediately apply another layer of your sunblock cream and search for a shade. Wear a hat and some comfortable clothes. Wear the hat whenever you can, during summer months, your skin will appreciate it, and it looks great.

When you get home, take a shower immediately. Remember that hot water dries skin out, and use as cold water as you can. The ice can be helpful for easing pain, swelling and itchiness as well. Don't rub the skin with a towel, just leave it to dry on the air. After that, apply aloe vera containing moisturizer. If you have blisters, it means your sunburns are more serious, and you can additionally protect these areas.

Natural skin products containing high percentages of Aloe Vera are the best for treating sun damaged skin. Nevertheless, make sure that there are no fragrances or chemical components such as benzocaine on the list of ingredients. Aloe vera is great for repairing, soothing and even cooling your skin, but other harmful ingredients is some products may cause itching or even allergies.

You could also take ibuprofen or an aspirin, to reduce the swelling and to ease your discomfort and pain. You should drink water and natural juices, but water is better. In the next few days, you should be on some light diet, avoiding heavy and spiced foods. It's important to eat fresh foods, preferably fruits and vegetables, as well as to take larger amounts of liquids, especially water. Fresh fruit and vegetable juices are also a good idea, and if you crave for snacks, have some nuts instead.
