Focusing On Big Acquisitions With An Internet Marketing Firm

By Robert Sutter

To say the least, businesses have the goal of growing as much as possible. This can be done through various processes, marketing included, but stagnancy is undoubtedly a company's worst enemy. However, in recent times, many companies have taken part in acquisitions and any Internet marketing firm will be able to illustrate them as well. For those who are curious about the acquisitions in question, take these examples into mind for the future.

To start of, it's important to look at how Yahoo was able to purchase Tumblr. This was done in May of 2013 and it was one that not only helped Yahoo, from a social standpoint, but it was able to illustrate the value of this particular microblogging social media website of sorts. It was clear as to why this was done, seeing as how Tumblr has a strong audience it caters to. The acquisition has done, on the part of Yahoo, for a sum of $1.1 billion.

What about the purchase of WhatsApp done on the part of Facebook? To give a brief summary, back in February of this year, WhatsApp was purchased by Facebook, the price in question being the strong statistic of $19 billion. No one can argue with the fact that this instant messaging service is quite popular amongst mobile users, whether they use Apple devices, Android platforms, or what have you. Regardless, this particular purchase served both companies quite nicely.

In an effort to bolster its own catalog, as firms like fishbat can attest to, Microsoft purchased the independent game company known as Mojang. While many people, on the outside, may not know what Mojang is, they may be familiar with the company once they understand that it developed the popular video game, "Minecraft." In essence, then, Microsoft owns "Minecraft" and can do with the IP as it pleases. With the importance of content illustrated by any Internet marketing firm, this purchase made back in September is yet another noteworthy one.

Even though there have been numerous other purchases like this, the examples listed above are just a few of the most noteworthy. Not only were they done rather recently but, to me, they have illustrated just how important it is for businesses to grow over the course of time. As you can see, the growth in question can be done by partnerships and acquisitions. For those who are curious about getting into business, points like these show just how much strength social media has.
