So are locked smartphones useless because of its disadvantage? Actually, many people do not realize that their phones are at that state. To know about it, try using other SIM cards instead the one from a carrier. If it will not work, then certainly the device is at lock state.

Moreover, they can even unlock it without payment. As stated above, locked devices have many restrictions compared to unlock ones. You can either wait at the end of the contract or perhaps contact your carrier for the instructions.
