What Are Commercial Casters And Its Types

Industries and companies have changed the world and how people live. Through new innovations and developing their products making people's lives more efficient and fast. As industries improve, so is the competition increases. Some companies are pushing their boundaries making their product more buy worthy for their target market and consumers.

One product that comes to mind in moving things are casters. Commercial casters, usually called rollers or wheels, are used for mounting objects and enable them to move easily. It has a lot of variations in sizes and may or may not be composed from rubber, plastic, nylon, aluminum, or stainless steel.

Every roller has different functions. In moving heavy objects, like crates, the industrial wheels are being utilized. Industrial wheels are a little bulkier but very durable. It is designed to have four bolt holes in between the the load and the top plate for more stability. For the market rollers they are more lightweight and user friendly compared to the industrial ones. They have slicker design and as mentioned, much more accessible and common.

Both types of wheels have two forms of rollers. Rigid casters, are mounted to a stationary fork. This is usually found in shopping carts. This tends to gives friction to the motion of the object, enabling it to move in a straight line.

Since commercial caster is widely used and known, these can be easily purchase in any hardware store or online. They are more manageable, since it is lightweight, and have lots of variations. It is slicker and comes with different sizes unlike the industrial ones.

The most widely known is the Twin Wheel Caster. It is very economical and relatively has a wide range of pricing. The sizes ranges from 40mm to 125mm in diameter. The best thing about this is that it has brakes available for most models. And the bigger it is the easier it moves over any obstacles.

Spherical or Hooded Ball Caster, is another thing. Composed of hard plastic and rubber and has 1 to 5.8 inches of diameter. This is smaller compared to the other rollers. This is also very economical and widely know but the downside is that does not have any brakes.

If going for a slightly heavy duty usage, it is recommended to use the Single Wheel Caster. This is because it can move furniture using the 16 inches diameter roller and rigid models are available. Total lock brakes are available and prices are affordable, depending on the wheel material, bearing quality and size.

For those non heavy duty purposes, Ball or Planetary Casters are utilized. This is inexpensive, it is lightweight, easy to roll due to its elegant rollers. Sizes may range from 1.5 inches to 3 inches in diameter and it is composed of rubber or metal.
