By Marie Peterson

Anyone who likes to burn candles or incense at night or just want to create a serene environment may find they can also save money. For those who like to buy these often know that not all products are made the same. Some items that are pricey may have a strong scent but for some, these aromas may be overpowering. Others who may want something that will burn for hours may not which product will be the best investment. People who have made the conversion to handmade beeswax candles find these serve a multitude of purposes around the home.

Relaxation is the best way to get a sound sleep session. For a lot of adults, this can be hard to do regularly. Even those who may often experience what some call good stress, which may result from engaging in activity that is stimulating to the soul, it helps to get at least six hours of sleep every night.

In order to get the best value, it helps to buy the largest candle possible. Large or medium jars or long pillar versions are great for extended use in a home. It also helps to buy one with a pure cotton wick and oils that are not synthetic. Most sellers should indicate if the materials when they have used natural ingredients and not something made in a lab.

The first is to turn off any negative emotions associated with work or school once at home. If there is a matter to resolve, jot it down along with a few realistic resolutions on the way home. Otherwise, replaying the moments mentally can disturb sleep.

Another alternative to reading is to engage in light exercise. While high energy activity, like yoga, can stimulate a person so that it may be hard to sleep, stretch workouts can have a reverse effect. Tai chi, reiki, or just working with resistance bands is not only a great way to relax but burn some unwanted pounds.

One reason why some have problems sleeping at night are stressors that can be hard to shake off. Usually, money or personal finances is one of the top subjects the average person stresses over. Burning candles at night instead of turning on a light to read can cut energy bills tremendously.

Once at home, turning off stimulators is important. A lot of people have a favorite television that may get a person so excited that it will take hours to get to sleep. The same also applies to live or phone conversations with others. If there is a matter to be resolved, try to wrap it up quickly or resume at a time when both parties can have an extended conversation.

Finally, drinking herbal tea at night instead of alcoholic beverages is better for a deep somber. There are many ingredients that can help a person relax versus the carbohydrates and sugars in most beer and cocktail drinks. If money is an ongoing stressor, it helps to know that tea usually costs less than alcoholic beverages per serving.
