How To Be A Leader With Network Marketing

By David Robb

When you start network marketing, it can be overwhelming. After all, you're really running two businesses. On the one hand, you are selling a product. On the other hand, you are recruiting others to sell the same product. Both areas deserve your full attention, and here are some tips to make sure you succeed with both.

You MUST treat your network marketing strategy as a business. That means you need to make sure that everyone around you is getting ample compensation for their help. If your dentist puts your marketing material out in his office, make sure to give him something back in return. Goodwill will reap great rewards!

Do not start out by trying to bring in your friends or family. Leave them for after you have already made a success in the business. Going after friends and family to become prospects could potentially hurt your relationships with them. It will also hurt you in developing the skills you need to deal with cold prospects which is what you truly need to succeed.

Handing out free samples of your product is good, but you need to keep close track of who's taking what. A lot of MLM starters hold parties and various gatherings, handing out samples of their products and inevitably finding that some people only show up for free stuff. Vet your audience to ensure their seriousness.

Picking your spots in network marketing is incredibly important. You won't be able to pitch a product to just anyone. Make sure you're sticking with a niche market and always advertising to those people more likely to join your network. Remember, there's something in it for them too, so make sure they know it.

Try to build solid relationships with your readers. If you try to force your list to buy item after item, you will find that they will find somewhere else to go when they need something. Start out with great communication with the list and build from there. After you have a solid relationship with them it will all work out on its own.

Focus your time and energy on activities that have a direct effect on your income. Constantly checking your inbox for new emails when you have an auto-responder already set up is not going to get you anywhere and in fact just wastes your time. Use that time to actively seek out new contacts and earn more money.

Help your downline by setting goals for them and giving them a reward for achieving them. Hold a contest to see who gets the most referrals in a month and reward the winner with some sort of prize, like an iPad. Building motivation through incentives is an excellent tool for your repertoire.

Don't forget about social media when it comes to network marketing! Tweets get re-tweeted, and Facebook posts can be shared. Have your blog write on both sites when you post to your blog, and make sure to add other tidbits of information throughout the day to keep your followers interested. Link to articles that match the topic of your website, or mention positive achievements you've made recently.

Expose your business to at least thirty people per day. The focus should be on what gets you paid, which is recruiting and retail. In order to become a successful network marketer, spend at least 2 hours per day on exposing your business to people. If you can do this day in and day out for a year, there is no way to fail at your network marketing business.

A positive outlook is extremely important on the road to network marketing success. That road is a long one, and there are plenty of potential obstacles along the way. Early setbacks can throw you off the path entirely. Staying positive helps you power on past the obstacles and remain focused on their goals.
